Green Catfish to me

I read some of the comments over at BTB and I guess
what I wanted to further say is a message that has
already been conveyed.
"My pops says the frustration will never go away,
you're always going to be spraypainting on some
berlinwall or other. But eventually you will have some
kind of victory, or your children will. Don't stop, he
said. Fight harder."
Fight harder if you can but at least continue to let
others know there is a fight to be fought.
Once I was involved in a campaign, deeply. The guy was
a friend of a friend and they needed skills that could
be trusted, I fit the bill. The guy was a better
candidate but he didn't win.
'Politics are rarely played fairly' was one of the
courses I was enrolled in at the school of hard
knocks. But the funny thing is that those who aren't
strangers to politics, those who eat and breathe
politics know that the game isn't played fairly. Some
like the unsportsmanship of it all. Some liken it to
war. This tends to wary the players who like to play
it straight.
We didn't win that fight but some of us went on and
won some lesser fights and there are still times today
when we get each other's back. Battle tried and field
tested, I guess.
There are times when the pot needs to be stirred. It
looks like somehow you got stuck with the wooden
spoon. Maybe some don't like your stirring technique
but try to hand them the spoon and see what happens.
But then you already know.
The important thing is to keep it stirring, some just
walk away, leave it for someone else, the heroes keep
the spoon moving at least until someone else can take
over.
Weak as water - I like that analogy. Water may be
mostly tasteless but what quenches thirst better?
Some folks underestimate the power of water.
Weak as water? Talk to the folks on the Florida
coastline or some farmer with 500 acres of just dirt
because the rain refuses to touch the earth.
Heat makes rain - rain is water - water is life. You,
and maybe others, see water, I see life. But then I'm
repeating myself. We sometimes can't see what is
growing underground.
It was great when you replied to a comment on BTB when
someone asked that a link be posted. You replied "That
someone is you." There are too many people looking
around waiting for someone else to do something. What
I admire about you is that you get to getting and
you're not afraid to tell others to do the same.
Recently, I pictured you standing in the batter's box
swinging away, sometimes you're not pleased with your
batting average and sometimes you get heckled from the
stands but at least you're taking swings at the ball
and I think you're also more than willing to step away
from the plate if there is someone else who is willing
to swing the bat but often there is no one in the on
deck circle.
I guess this is the extended version of:
The thing about water is that all life needs it to
exist.
Which still holds true.
Truly,
Tim
P.S. Thanks for letting me know you peruse my site. I
was going to increase the amount of profanity and
pornography but I'll hold off on that for now.
